Welcome everyone!
So I have decided to try again. It is not the first time I have tried to create message boards for the for the website, but it certainly is the first time I've changed my approach. Sadly enough - for some people - my website will cease to exist as we know it in about six months - for more than four years now, it has been a Star Wars site, but then I added the film criticism site and everything changed. As you will be able to see in this forum, we will solely focus on the movies and general topics - it will no longer be a "Star Wars forum" because, in six months, I simply plan to change the website and focus solely on film criticism. (Not that I haven't been doing that already - when was the last time I updated the Star Wars site?)
Anyway, as in every forum, there will be rules, and although they aren't exaggeratedly strict, I believe they will serve their purpose:
1. Be educated. The forum is to discuss, not to fight. Personal attacks and insults will by no means be tolerated.
2. Report abuse. If you see anything inappropriate, please report it to myself or any of the moderators.
3. No flaming. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
4. No spam. This also includes staying on topic, and no writing more than two posts in a row. (Unless it's absolutely necessary.) Try to edit.
5. No SCREAMING. No sentences made only of CAPITAL LETTERS. It is annoying, it looks ugly and it might even offend some people. It will be considered pretty much the same as spam.
6. These message boards - as well as the main website and the blog - are rated PG-13. Please use the appropriate language. Anything profane or vulgar will be deleted and the user responsible for the language will be moderated or banned.
7. Speak English. As much as I would allow more than one language in the forum, it is obviously tidier if we all use the same language. Creating a "Spanish-only" section, for example, for the forum in the near future could be possible.
8. No plagiarism.
9. No porn or other offensive material. (Remember, this is a PG-13 website.)
10. And lastly, if you're going to include spoilers in a thread or in a comment... PLEASE WARN. People - including myself - don't like when a spoiler warning is not used.
And that's all... for the moment at least. If anyone comes up with a sensible rule or something that I might have missed, you're welcome to say so in this thread or to send me a private message.
Hope you'll enjoy this new venture!
Sebastian
